QSearch.com is a domain associated with an add-on for Mac browsers that is classified as a browser hijacker. The QSearch Browser add-on may hijack your browser and homepage and modify new tab settings to qsearch.cc, analytics.qsearch.cc, or other unwanted variations of a similar web address.

Symptoms of a Browser Hijacker How to Remove a Browser Hijacker from Your Computer?

Although QSearch is promoted as a tool to simplify and enhance the Facebook experience, the redirects that occur because of it can drive you to less than reputable sites that may lead to additional issues on your PC. Such issues would include being inundated with questionable sponsored advertisements and encounters with potentially unwanted programs, adware and other threats. Although QSearch.com may eventually redirect users to Yahoo or Bing, neither is associated with Qsearch.com. Search engine sites like Qsearch.com are often powered by well-known search engines like Yahoo or Bing that are not responsible for whatever the outsourcing domains do.

Symptoms of a Browser Hijacker

Generally speaking, whenever a computer system has a browser hijacker installed that redirects to sites like QSearch.com, the user may experience the following symptoms:

  • You may be redirected to the Qsearch.com website after conducting a search via legitimate search engines such as Google, Bing, or Yahoo.
  • The homepage and new tab settings of your Internet browser may be changed to Qsearch.com without your authorization.
  • You may experience a flurry of pop-up windows and advertisements for sponsored content that is associated with QSearch.com.
  • During regular Internet browsing, you may be taken to Qsearch.com at seemingly random intervals.
  • When attempting to visit a website directly by typing its destination into the address bar, the browser hijacker may take you to the Qsearch.com website and not your intended site.

How to Remove a Browser Hijacker from Your Computer?

To remove browser hijacker-related files and prevent unwanted behavioral changes on your PC, it is advised to scan your computer with a reputable anti-malware remediation tool. If you choose to attempt to remove browser hijacker-related files yourself, it is highly recommended that you do so in Safe Mode to ensure that the threat doesn’t leave remnant files or has a chance to resurface.
