S.viixie.com is a browser hijacker that displays a parade of unwanted online ads, and redirects users to unknown sites, among other undesirable changes.

Some of the more common telltale signs of S.viixie.com is running are banner ads, pop-ups, and redirects to unfamiliar pages. Moreover, users may find that their search engine has been replaced, too. S.viixie.com’s presence on your computer was likely brought about by a potentially unwanted program or PUP or may have originated from other adware or freeware that you may have installed in the past.

For instance, you may have gone to a site to download a piece of software, and the program you wanted may be completely independent of S.viixie.com. However, you may have inadvertently exposed your computer to unwanted software when you downloaded the freeware. This happens when certain apps are distributed within software bundles that may include adware or browser hijackers.

Once downloaded, a potentially unwanted program may redirect you to S.viixie.com, and you may encounter a plethora of unsolicited advertising content. It’s also possible that as you click on these ads, you may be infected with additional malware that can potentially cause damage to your computer.

How Do I Stop My Browser From Redirecting to S.viixie.com?

You should use a reputable malware remediation tool and scan your computer to remove elements associated with any potentially unwanted program that may be responsible for bringing S.viixie.com to you. And in the future, when installing any software from the Internet, be sure to select the advanced or custom installation option to ensure that you only install the programs you actually need.
