TroxApp is categorized as a potentially unwanted application (PUA) that can infiltrate your system without explicit consent. It typically arrives bundled with freeware or shareware downloads and often goes unnoticed until its effects become apparent. Once installed, TroxApp exhibits various unwanted behaviors that compromise the user experience and system security.

Upon installation, TroxApp may:

  • Display intrusive advertisements in the form of pop-ups, banners, or in-text ads.

TroxApp Removal Guide

Follow these steps to remove TroxApp from your system manually:

  1. Uninstall TroxApp from Control Panel:
    • Windows 10/Windows 8: Right-click on the Start button, select “Apps and Features”. Find TroxApp in the list of installed applications, click on it, and select “Uninstall”.
    • Windows 7: Click on the Start button, open Control Panel, then click “Uninstall a program” under Programs. Find TroxApp, click on it, and choose “Uninstall”.
  2. Remove TroxApp Extensions from Web Browsers:
    • Google Chrome: Open Chrome, click the three-dot menu, go to “More tools” > “Extensions”. Find TroxApp-related extensions and click the trash bin icon to remove them.
    • Mozilla Firefox: Open Firefox, click the menu button, go to “Add-ons” > “Extensions”. Remove any TroxApp-related extensions.
    • Microsoft Edge: Open Edge, click the three-dot menu, go to “Extensions”. Find TroxApp-related extensions and click “Remove”.
  3. Reset Browser Settings:
    • Google Chrome: Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset and clean up > Reset settings.
    • Mozilla Firefox: Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information > Refresh Firefox > Refresh Firefox.
    • Microsoft Edge: Go to Settings > Reset settings.
  4. Scan Your Computer with Antivirus Software: Use reputable antivirus or anti-malware software to perform a full system scan. Remove any detected threats, including TroxApp remnants.
  5. Delete Leftover Files and Folders: Navigate to folders such as %ProgramFiles%, %AppData%, and %LocalAppData% to delete any remaining TroxApp-related files manually.
