SuperBlack is a highly dangerous ransomware variant believed to be based on LockBit 3.0. It encrypts data on infected systems, appending filenames with a randomly generated extension, and demands a ransom for decryption. This ransomware has been actively deployed between January and March 2025 by a Russian-speaking cybercriminal group known as “Mora_001.” Victims are warned that their files are not only encrypted but also exfiltrated, with threats of public data leaks if the ransom is not paid.
