IT Funk - IT for funksjonshemmede
IT Funk is The Norwegian Research Council's RTD-programme on ICT for people with disability.
Universal design and accessibility for all. The purpose of IT Funk is to contribute to accessibility for all, including persons with disability, to information and communication technology (ICT) and to society through the use of ICT. ICT-based products and services developed for the general market must be accessible and useful for everyone at reasonable prices. IT Funk pays special attention to areas where accessibility issues impact on a person's life chances, such as education, employment and basic services to citizens.

InclusionSociety: Improving usability of municipal health services, open access to the self-serve society

Primary objective: Create a comprehensive new generation eHealth-solution for users of municipal health services. The solution provides improved overview for management of older people's demands at home, in institutions and at nursing facilities, based on daily simplified data input by the end users and/or care personnel (e.g. nurses).
Project summary: The InS-solution will bridge the gaps and break down barriers that older people, especially those with impairments, meet when using ICT-based solutions. By delivering platforms and services that are attractive and of real value to the users, the project will enable a multitude of services that will enhance their quality of life and enable new and better models for providing care in a socially and economically sustainable way. The chosen model of implementation will facilitate the distribution to users of municipal services in the home, with online connection to the municipal service coordination center.
The project will develop two new software solutions:
- 1: homePad - to be used at home for visual communication to nurse at the municipal health center, of measurements related to chronic conditions (diabetes, COPD, hearing problems), self-assessment i.e. reporting to the coordination centre, activity calendar, messaging/social communication etc. The homePad will be tailored to the demands of older users. In next phase, use of homePad should lead to increased uses of internet for other purposes.
- 2: nursePad and comprehensive solution for the municipal coordination center. This will provide an overview of the status of the users both in home-based or institutional care. The InS-solution will increase the security and peace of mind of the users of municipal home-based care in their homes, making it possible for older people to stay in their homes and lead active lives with greater autonomy and dignity.
